Dallas Project | The Dining Room

This gorgeous dining room is part of a Dallas residence that I have been working on over the past year.  Some other spaces in this home, that I have previously shown you, are the master bedroom and master bath
This home is new construction, but was designed to include lots of the charm you would expect to find in an older home.  This home's plan is based on a center hall Colonial concept but with modern adaptations that worked for this adorable family.
One of my favorite design elements in this dining room are the upholstered walls.  We chose a fabric in a crisp, trellis pattern with light crewel work.  It really sets this room apart and adds that perfect punch of pattern!  We felt like the walls really shine on their own and so we didn't want to add any art on top of the pretty fabric.
This dining room is very spacious, so we were able to furnish it with a dining table capable of comfortably seating 10.  We opted for cushy upholstered chairs that make lingering at the dinner table enjoyable.  A custom linen bordered sisal lays underfoot, anchoring the room while also providing a wonderful, natural texture.
I love this burnished brass bar cart paired with lots of silver bar accessories.
Looking back into the dining room from the butler's pantry.
Modern gold leafed gourd lamps with lucite bases playfully interact with the distressed planter's buffet and the antique-inspired Louis XVI mirror.  I love the tension that is created when you mix old and new.
In this last image, you can see the relationship of the dining room to the entry hall.  The front door is immediately to the right, with the staircase centered in the entry foyer, in center hall Colonial fashion.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing another space in this lovely Dallas home.  There is more to come.

My husband and I just returned from an amazing 'babymoon' vacation to Boston and Nantucket.  It was like a storybook and I can't wait to show you what we saw.  If you follow me on Instagram you've already seen some lovely little snippets of the fairytale-like island.  It was truly the perfect trip and I can't wait to return someday.
In baby news, I'm now just a little over 6 months and doing well :-)  For those that didn't see on Instagram, we are having a little boy!  My husband, Frank, is a third, so our new little guy will be James Frank Beck IV and we are planning on calling him James.  We are very excited!!!

I hope you're getting a great start to the summer and if you're in Texas, staying cool, whew!

This room is beautiful. Can you please tell me the source for the sisal area rug? Thanks!
