Taken Home

On Saturday morning one of our dear friends, Keith Beasley, was taken home to be with the Lord. While we are mourning the loss of him on this earth, there is peace in knowing that he has been healed and made whole. He is home.
Keith was a Christian, a sweet husband, a loved son, brother and friend. He will truly be missed.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. We live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 4:16-5:8
Keith will forever live in our hearts and memories.
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die."
John 11:25-26
Please keep his sweet wife, precious son, family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

What I'm Loving...

The luxurious soft goods from Sachin + Babi for Ankasa. I love to use Ankasa in my projects! The attention to detail on their bedding and pillow collections is extraordinary!
Give me the name of a designer out there that doesn't have some kind of weird collecting thing for throw pillows! I bet you can't find one :-)

This pillow would be an elegant addition to a bed full of creamy linens.

This collection is gorgeous! I used this collection, but in gray, in a bedroom for my dear client in Oregon.
The crewel work is very fine and soft.

My Oregon client's bedroom where I used the gray collection.

They have many, many beautiful pieces on their site if you would like to peruse further :-)
Happy What I'm Loving Wednesday!!!

What I'm Loving...

I'm loving the simplicity and the fabric combinations of this bedroom. The charcoal walls are rich and calming and the white lamp with antique brass detailing contrasts beautifully against them. I adore the gray and white stripped fabric...(yes, stripe obsessed, I know!!!!) paired with the warm gold matelasse coverlet.
I'm loving it all!

Tart

Remember these? These are the pears I picked from our recent visit to the ranch. The tree was bursting with them so I helped myself and went home with a bag full.

There is something simple, spiritual and poetic about a tree bearing fruit.

The pear tree has the most beautiful, fragrant flowers in the spring. I quickly snapped this picture last spring out at the ranch, because the tree was literally buzzing...the bees think it is pretty spectacular too.
I had my baking apron looong before Charlotte did...just sayin'
...and over the weekend I baked this little guy. It's a pear and frangipane tart. Frangipane (let me break it down for you) is a schmancy Italian word for pastry cream or custard that is made with ground almonds. Frangere il pane, which literally means to crush or break the bread, is what you do with the almonds...sooo, if you don't like almonds this dessert ain't for you!
It is really yummy and would be perfect with hot tea and a chat with a girlfriend :-)
Happy Monday!

What I'm Loving...

This beach house designed by Victoria Hagan! The crisp, bright whites and cool blues feel like a breath of fresh air while in the midst of this thick, Texas 100+ degree summer heat.

It's like diving into a cool, blue pool.
My favorite industrial pendant lights and a planked ceiling.

I hope you're staying cool out there!
Do me a favor...if you check in on this blog every now and then, please click 'follow this blog' in the sidebar, either in Google or Facebook Networked Blogs. I would love to know who is reading this little guy :-)
Happy half-the-week-is-over day!!!
