Blake's Bath

Blake is a pretty cool cat! In fact, he's one of the coolest kiddos I know! Soo, naturally, we had to design a super cool bedroom and bath for this super cool kid :-)
Blake loves baseball and so we took his bath on a little vintage baseball spin.
I, of course, love the vintage tiles, but that paired with the metal and wood ballpark signs of yesteryear and I do believe we have a winning combo!
The wooden Boys' Locker Room sign is pretty cute, huh?!
Bin pulls, pinwheels and a gooseneck faucet all complete the look.
The honed carrara bianco slab is absolutely perfect! We used a traditional subway tile in the shower, but created a favorite graphic of mine by pairing it with gray grout. The graphic is continued in the horizontal stripes of the shower curtain fabric.
The awesome sconces that we fell in love with! These are one of my favorite specifications for this bath.
Blake's bedroom will make an appearance a little later, as it still has some finishing touches that need to be done.
It is fantastic and ALL boy!
I hope you're having a great start to the week :-)

We are in the process of a bath redo and we painted the base cabinets dark gray. I'm loving the shower curtain you used!!

I love this bath! Can you advise of the blue paint color you used on the cabinetry for this project? Also, wondering your light source for the sconces? Thanks! I love your design blog! So inspirational!
PS congrats on your new little one! We just had a new baby girl on 9/12/11!

Thank you Hannah. I can give some retail sources but I can not give out paint colors when a client and a contract is involved, I'm sure you understand. Thank you so much for reading and for the compliments! The sconce is from Pottery Barn :-)

I love this! I've been planning our boys bathroom redo and find it difficult to make it comfortable for them without turning it too kiddie. You did an amazing job blending the two, I am sure Blake likes it as much as his mom does :)

Thank you Leen, and thanks for reading :-)

I love everything about this bathroom! Can you please tell me where you got the shower curtain? I am in love with the stripes.

Maria@Live Beautifully said...

Thanks Amy! The curtain is actually a duvet for West Elm that we had custom made into a shower curtain. Because it is a duvet the pattern is on the inside too :-)

I love this inspiration! I am the mom of four boys and I am always looking for inspiration for my boys' rooms. We are creating a new bathroom for them, and I love the tile you used in the shower. I also like that you used two curtains. They way our shower is, I was needing to have two curtains and I didn't know if that would look right. But now I do!! :)
Thank you!
Can't wait to see Blake's room.
Blessings,
Traci

Love this! I found the shower curtain online but can't find the Boys Locker Room sign. Did u make or buy? If bought, where? Thx!!

I love the whole bathroom too. Do you have a source for the "locker room" sign? Thanks!

Maria@Live Beautifully said...

Thank you Marla and Karyl! Unfortunately I can't help you out with a source for the sign because it was a random find online. I would probably google vintage signs. Good luck!

Beautiful bathroom. Where might you find an extra-long liner for the shower curtain, as I assume might be on the under-side of the striped shower cutain?

Maria@Live Beautifully said...

Thank you Crawmer. I have those custom made at my drapery workroom. Thanks for reading.

You’ll do anything for that little boy. I was thrilled to see a locker in the boy’s bathroom. How awesome is that? The boy loves basketball and you made him feel like he’s the star player by creating a refreshing bathroom with a locker. That is so sweet. Well, I am sure that Blake is so happy with what you’ve done for him. He’ll be so proud to have you as the sweetest mom ever!

I really love this bathroom, especially the long shower curtains. I am wanting to purchase a duvet from West Elm do try and create this look as well. For a shower with 8 foot ceilings and 5 foot wide, do you think a Queen size 88X92 will be sufficient? Or did you use a King size? Thank you so much for your response!!!

Maria@Live Beautifully said...

Thanks for reading Megan! I used a king size. Good luck with your design :-)

Great blog! Do you have any recommendations for aspiring writers? I'm hoping to start my own blog soon but I'm a little lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I'm completely overwhelmed .. Any suggestions? Bless you! bathroom remodel ideas
