Week in Review

We have been all over the place for the past week...
Frank and I are getting to know our city and figuring out why so many people love it here :-)
We went down to the old Pearl Brewery and walked around. They have made it into an urban delight with shopping, dining, lofts, etc.

I obsessed over these light fixtures...
and this old control panel!
We walked around the farmer's market and smelled fresh herbs...

and checked out what all the local farmers had brought in to sell.
I loved this sculpture!!! It's like Jack Skellington meets Dios De Los Muertos!
We found an awesome place to eat Mexican street food. I love Mexican street style tacos!
I bought peaches at the farmer's market from a farm near where we live...
and baked this little yummy!
...and these little yummies with the left over pie dough.
It's a little trick my Mama taught me so that you don't waste any pie dough. Just slather the rolled out left over dough with butter, sugar and cinnamon. Roll it up like a jelly roll and slice. Bake until the sugar caramelizes. They are so simple and so delicious!
My cannas bloomed :-)
We got a little mini vacay at the Four Seasons Dallas for my husband's work. It was wonderful! I'd never stayed at a Four Seasons before and it was super nice! All of the toiletries are L'Occitane...who doesn't love that?!
We relaxed by their fabulous pool, where the staff comes by to spritz you with Evian mist if you wish... quite the luxury!

Then we hopped on over to North Dallas to spend the night at Le Meridien, which was funky and young.
I loved the bathroom! Cool wallpaper and black trim and doors. Very chic!

I checked in on one of my projects, that is looking fabulous, if I may say so myself.
Here are a couple of the details...

It is looking seriously gorgeous! I can't wait to show you the finished product!!!
Next we headed on out to Possum Kingdom Lake, to hang with some of our favorite people in the world, for the fourth of July weekend and my birthday ;-)
We spent a lot of time chillaxing out here in Hell's Gate.

and watched a killer fireworks show!

and then...Home sweet home!
I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend and a happy 4th!
