Elegant In Austin | The Study

If you've been around the blog a while, you likely recognize the 'Elegant In Austin' series.  This project turned out amazing and my precious clients were a joy to work with!  This space has been completed for a while, but life truly got in the way of photographing it and putting it out here in the blogosphere.
If you've missed this series, you can see some more of the spaces in this gorgeous Austin home here, here and here
This study sits just off the family room through two grand pocket doors.  Like our door color?  I love it!  After I selected this color for my client I immediately had to have it in my own home too. I blogged about a little ol' pregnant nesting meltdown ;-) request in a previous post here.
We did this study in an inky, high gloss peacock blue.  It is gorgeous in person!!!  High gloss is not easy to photograph!

We found this amazing macassar ebony and ostrich leather inlay desk that was just perfect for the space.  This desk is used as more of an in-and-out working space for her husband.  There are two more pocket doors on the left wall of the space enclosing a small built-in office workstation that houses the computer, printer, papers etc.  It's nice to have it enclosed so that you can just close those doors and still have a pretty study without seeing all of your daily clutter.

We framed vintage sheet music for our art.  My client picked the songs :-)
I love the chair with the oval cut out back we found!
We had a custom sofa made for one of her previous homes and so while drawing up the plans for this home, we planned the study dimensions around it.  Deer eat, literally, right outside of that window in the front yard, and this comfy sofa is the perfect perch to watch them.

I hope that you had a very blessed Easter.  He is risen!
I'm going to try to be better about blogging :-/  Instagram sure has made it easy to just throw unedited content out there!  If you'd like to see more of my project progress pics mixed in with the mundane minutia of my life ;-) follow me @mariaebeck.  Wow, that's a ringing endorsement huh?! ha!
I hope you're having a great week!
